Frequently Asked Questions
How do I secure a date?
A $10 per person deposit is due when you book. It becomes not refundable inside 60 days of the event. Earlier refunds return 50 percent.
What is the minimum guest count?
Sunday to Thursday minimum 50 guests. Friday and Saturdary minimum 75 guests.
When is my final count and details due?
Please finalize everything two weeks before the event.
What if I cancel?
Cancel 7 days or less before the event and you are charged 20 percent of the estimate plus the deposit.
When are prices locked?
Menus may change. Firm pricing is confirmed within 30 days of your date. All food and beverage add 6 percent sales tax and 20 percent gratuity.
When do I pay and how?
Payment is due 7 business days before the event. No personal checks. Credit cards add a 3 percent processing fee.
Is there a room rental fee? What is included?
350 dollars for 50 to 70 guests. 400 dollars for over 70. Includes set up, clean up, and house linens. Extra early decorating beyond 2 hours before start is 50 dollars per hour.
How long can my event run?
Up to 5 hours and must end by 11 pm. You may add one extra hour for 100 dollars only by starting earlier. Sunday events must end by 9 pm. All vendors and decor leave at end time.
Can I bring desserts or wine?
Outside desserts are 2 dollars per person plus 20 percent gratuity. Outside bottled wine is 20 dollars per 750 ml plus 20 percent gratuity. All other beverages are provided by Sindbad's.
What menu styles do you offer? Any minimums?
Buffet or plated. Plated can be one or two entrees. If two, send counts 7 business days ahead. After 4 pm we serve dinner menus only. Minimum 30 dollars per person on food, beverages not included.
Can you handle walk ins beyond my guarantee?
We prepare for ten percent above the guarantee. Beyond that the same plate is not guaranteed.
How long is buffet service? Can guests take food to go?
Buffets run one and a half to two hours based on size. No carry outs.
What about bar service?
If liquor is served, a bartender is required. Bar set up is 100 dollars.
Any decor rules?
No tape, nails, confetti, or sparkle sprinkles. Candles must be in glass with the rim above the flame. Decor can start two hours before. Extra decorating time is 50 dollars per hour. All decor must be removed at the end.
Do you remove sales tax for exempt groups?
No. If you are exempt, apply for a refund from the State of Michigan.
What about damages or lost items?
Damages or missing property are added to the bill. Sindbad's is not responsible for items brought in by clients, guests, or contractors.
Can I use the Sindbad's name or logo in ads?
Only with banquet manager approval.
Is valet required? What does it cost?
Yes. Valet or valet guided parking is 3 dollars per vehicle. The host may cover it or guests can pay. Cash only to the valet.
